*  More book-cooking.  US deaths from two days ago has been adjusted upward by 622 without any accounting of where those deaths came from.  New deaths from the previous day still show to be 1,097, but if you subtract yesterday's total with the originally reported previous day, that number increases to 1,719.  The two numbers simply do not reconcile.
   Without these 622 unaccounted for deaths, we exhibited a decrease of 187 over the preceding week instead of a 435 increase.  In other words, deaths are decreasing, but at the close of the Democrat Convention, someone needs a different narrative.

The only reason to slow things down is if the hospitals are overloaded to the point of triage. By slowing this down to a crawl it only increases the chances of outbreaks in those facilities.

Additionally all management of trying to control the rate of spread should have been done locally based on the local hospital's utilization in that area. Each area is different. One size fits all only guarantees maximum economic destruction over a wide area.

I recall that Worldometers left a note that the discrepancy came from the way they were counting deaths in Texas, switching from adding up the county totals to the state totals (which where higher and counted "probable" deaths that never tested positive).

I know Worldometers has the same problem as far as my home county (which doesn't originate with that site; JHU and the state site have the same problem)—our county does quality control and they've found 30 or so cases (and one or two deaths) that were from people who no longer live here. Now, normally, Worldometers would move the disputed cases to an "uncategorized" section but they have not in our case.

Meanwhile, my small county recorded 1 new case Sunday, 0 yesterday,  and removed 6 duplicate cases.  And the local Dems are demanding mask requirements remain the rest of the year.

- No masks
- Kids hanging out together
- No circles on the ground marking 6 ft apart
- No “social distancing” seat fillers on public transport
...Looks a lot like immune driven recovery to me.
