Well dead people do vote Democrat.

In droves....
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

I posted yesterday that DeWine has lifted all the emergency orders. You can now legally do just about anything in Ohio now.

Yep.  Good place to live.  :patriot:

Went to a liquor store today. Lots of people. Nobody had a mask on, except the checkout register person. Probably because they have to wear them to stay open. While there, a delivery crew came in with cases of this or that. None of them had a mask. This 'mask thing' is quickly losing steam. It's my choice if I wear it or not. This is America.

I wear a bandana around my neck in case someone gets snippy. I can always pull it up even though it does nothing in terms of viruses.

That’s interesting.  My husband went shopping today and his observation is that mask usage is increasing.

Yeah. None here too, except the bank which was weird as heck... I guess the Albertson's is marked out for 1 way aisles, but I honestly didn't notice. I hear tell the Costco has a mask requirement in place... That's gonna be a fun confrontation when I get up there, if it is true...

But the bandana is a great idea. I might ought to do that just to satisfy the chicken littles.

I noticed the same thing today @240B  It had been everyone was wearing a mask (and gloves) .... now you see a mask every third or fourth person.

It's never been like that here... Maybe 1 in 20 or 1 in 50... Old folks that ought to... Or maybe just the allergy afflicted, which is a thing this time of year...

That seems crazy to me, with EVERYBODY wearing masks. Never seen the like of it.

I don't mind covering my face when going into a building. If it helps slow things down, and there's some evidence it does, it gives government that much less grounds to keep everything locked down (not that they had much grounds to do so in the first place). I don't get why people are so hot and bothered by it.

I had a cop stop his car and give me the hard-eyed screw because I was walking along without a mask.

I had a coffee in my hand, fer crying out loud. But dug a mask out of my pocket just for him.

To get the government to ease the lockdown, all you have to do is comply. That's why.

And it don't do nothing. It's a farce. It may protect the guy in front of you from high speed projectiles from a cough or sneeze, but it blows out the sides of the mask instead, there for the guy behind you to walk through. Nothing but a pacifier, and a show of compliance.

REALLY? Outside? Not here.
And he'd have to haul me in. with a complimentary KMA bestowed upon him.
I hear tell I have to wear a mask to get into the Costco, and I am seriously considering never setting foot in there again over it. I PAY to go there. I have a contract for admission. It didn't say a dam thing about any masks.

I read a couple of different sources for this local story.

Here is the gist:

Wyatt Maser, 23, was responding to the area of Bone Road and 9th South around 5:20 a.m. to investigate a rollover crash. Officials say when Maser arrived, he encountered a woman who was walking away from the scene holding a machete. Maser followed on foot and tried to talk to her.

While Maser and another deputy tried to take the woman into custody, Sgt. Randy Flegel, who was responding to the area to assist, came upon the woman and two deputies in the roadway and hit Maser with his vehicle.

Police and emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, and he was rushed to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center; however, Maser succumbed to his injuries.

None of the articles mentioned anyone involved was wearing a mask. Unfreakingbelievable. A life could have been saved if ONLY they had been wearing MASKS.

You know people. Wearing a mask all the time is bad for you. Get out and breathe that fresh air that is full of molds, fungi, germs, allergens  and other viruses so your immune system stays healthy.

Agreed. I only wear it when I'm in a public building. The moment I step out the door, it's off.

Similar situation here. Everything I own gets sold, and I have two  friends that barely even know each other signed up to handle the sale of my antique cars and trucks, tools, parts, guns, gunsmith tools, and my real property.

One of these guys not only knows cars (he restores them and owns and runs a auto machine shop),but he grew up in a house with a father that was a gun dealer and gun collector. He knows what they are worth.

For their trouble, they each get 10 percent of net after the dust settles. Which should make a pretty nice payday for both. I am also hoping it will make each of them greedy enough to try to squeeze every dime out of this stuff that it is worth.

Half the remainder after expenses goes to the national Feline Hope because the local woman who runs the local branch is useless and uses the money to do stuff like build a house for her cats to live in.

The other half goes to Juvenile Diabetes research.

I have recently decided to cut in the Danny Thomas children's hospital in Tn for a 3rd cut,so I am going to have to get my will rewritten.

Right now each has a copy of my will,as does the lawyer that wrote it that is supposed to supervise the sales, and there is another copy on file at the court house.

I am stunned at the number of people that die with no will in place, and leave everybody to fight over everything in court, while it all goes to hell and lawyers fees as they spend years fighting each other over it. I personally know of houses that were very nice houses when their owners died that have been sitting vacant and unused for a couple of decades now because there was no will and none of the owners children is willing to allow any of the other children to live in it or rent it out. Roofs are caved in,floors are rotted out, etc, etc, etc.

People,if you own property and have relatives, get a will made TODAY!

Southern Alberta researchers say medical cannabis could help fight COVID-19
Before you laugh, it's only a few strains of cannabis sativa, high in CBD but low in the THC that gives you a high—basically hemp

One of the receptors, known as ACE2, has now been shown to be a key gateway, to how the COVID-19 virus enters the body.

"The virus has the capacity to bind to it, and pull it into the cell, almost like a doorway," Olga says.

Other key receptors allow the virus to enter other cells more easily and multiply rapidly. But some cannabis extracts help to reduce inflammation and slow down the virus.

The early discoveries indicate the cannabis extracts could be used in inhalers, mouthwash and throat gargle products for both clinical practice and at-home treatment.

Interesting news. My wife is all jazzed about CBD products. Me, I’m still skeptical. All I see is the exorbitant prices these online companies are charging, which I see is a result of all the hype CBD is getting. Seems like it’s being touted as a miracle cure for everything from toenail fungus to spider veins.

If you are elderly or have a compromised immune system though....you get it...you likely die.  Those people do need protected.
@mrpotatohead

I have several people insisting I go to church as the church is open with distance between people sitting in church.  They are told to bring a mask and wear it but I don't know if all of them are doing that.  I am 86 - if I went there and caught the virus, the ones wanting me to go there would say, "Gee, I didn't think you would get it."  And, I would still have it and likely die, just because I gave in and went there.

I am telling them, my children need me and I'm not taking that chance.

The elderly, trapped in NY, MI, PA and CA, did not get that choice.  They were not allowed to escape their nursing homes as the State forced the homes to take recovering COVID patients, and would not allow them to be tested (fear of discrimination and stigmatizing sick people).

I thank God you live in a free state.  The Northern Dem states are not free states.  Free states do not practice eugenics.

Good call.

There have been places where indoor meetings took place with social distancing and the virus still spread.

At 86 it's just not worth the risk.

Exactly. GREAT post.

Our health and safety are our own responsibility and should not require that others forfeit their God given rights. Many of us consider that dying in its own way.

I can report here that after 11 weeks I had an appointment at a hair salon.  happy77

We were asked to wait in our cars until our hairdresser was ready and were called into the building (it's very spacious).

The people at the desk had face shields and all the staff wore masks.  Most of the staff asked their clients to wear masks (mine did because she has a mother with both cardio and pulmonary issues and doesn't want to take unnecessary risks).

There was no one in the 3 stations around us, and I stayed in the same seat other than for the shampoo.  They had added plexiglass barriers between the sinks for safety.

I was surprised that they hadn't acquired a credit card reader for payment, but there was hand sanitizer there to use.

I left the place singing, "I feel pretty.... oh so pretty....."

One more outing and one more business open and thriving!  We're coming back, people!!

@musiclady  I'm sure it was a great feeling to get to the salon. My hairdresser is in the neighboring state that's still shut down. It could be several weeks before I have a chance to see her. Dare I visit a local salon and have a complete stranger do my hair?  8888huh

What is it with you ladies? My wife is the same. Even if we were motoring a thousand miles away for a vacation, she’d hop a plane just to get back to her gal.

My children are grown and live in Cardiff, Wales.  We speak every other day on Skype to keep up with each other.  Wales still has people staying home except for going to grocery store and grocery stores there only let a few people in at one time.

A story taking place now; the new reality:

My son owns his company, "Inspire Film and TV".  He lives in Cardiff, Wales, and London.  Right now he is starting a film, "The Wild West".  He will be filming in three western US States, from his home in Cardiff, Wales.   Yes, that is right, he will stay in Cardiff while filming in the US.

If he came to this country, he would have to isolate for two weeks; when he would return to Wales or London, he would have to isolate two weeks, so this is how he will film from his house:

Two or three people who film in this country, will be hired to go to the western three states and, as they film, son will be on Skype telling them what to film, how to film it, and he will watch while they do it, continuing to give them instructions.  Their filming will go to him right then so he will have it to work on while they go to another state.

This is the reality of where we are right now - innovation to do things another way.

How Fear, Groupthink Drove Unnecessary Global Lockdowns

In the face of a novel virus threat, China clamped down on its citizens. Academics used faulty information to build faulty models. Leaders relied on these faulty models. Dissenting views were suppressed. The media flamed fears and the world panicked.

That is the story of what may eventually be known as one of the biggest medical and economic blunders of all time. The collective failure of every Western nation, except one, to question groupthink will surely be studied by economists, doctors, and psychologists for decades to come...

I've gone to the same salon for 20 years (though they moved to a new location recently which is good because the space is much larger and distancing possible), and to the same hairdresser for most of that.  Before that, I just trimmed my own hair and cut my husband's and four kids' as well......... saved a lot of money over the years.  happy77

That's why I figured I could splurge in my old age and get my hair done once a month!

Occasionally I've gone to different people in the same salon but going to a different place would be a different story.

HOWEVER.......... it depends on how long you're willing to go with a DIY hairdo.  wink777

I have a son living overseas and things are MUCH stricter in the country where he lives.  They have not been able to leave their apartment for anything but groceries since their lockdown began.

It's been really tough for my son since he's a distance runner and has only been able to do workouts at home.

People here have to remember that this is a global pandemic and things are bad everywhere.  In fact, those of us in Red States are less restricted than most of the world is.
