It makes a good one-time family meal, that's for sure.
But, it is a shame he got caught.

We don't generally like Macs up in here. Too oily. Make alright in the smoke, but with rainbow, cuts, brookies and kokanee around, Macs play second fiddle.
Now for a tasty lake trout, That'd be Dolly Varden. Some folks call em Bull Trout. Wunnerful fish. Beats the pants off a Mac. Used to be here in my youth, but they have been protected for the last twenty years or so...
MT F&G killed em off with most the salmon introducing Micinae shrimp into the big lake. Decimated em... And what's left is under heavy pressure from Northern Pike getting into the drainage some how... Nobody's admitting to that flustercluck.
