@mountaineer No one really knows for sure how Mr. Cain contracted COVID. Maybe the Tulsa rally, maybe standing in line at the supermarket checkout too close to someone who was COVID positive, who knows. All this arguing over where he caught it is really ridiculous in my unsophisticated opinion.
But yes, as a cancer survivor plus at his age, he was far more likely to die from COVID if he contracted it and that's what happened. Should he have stayed home from the rally? Well, I can understand not wanting to be confined at home. I did that for about 12 weeks because I am high risk but by the middle of May, I had had enough. This morning I had breakfast with someone also at high risk. My friend and I are both old; she has emphysema while I have diabetes, heart and kidney issues, etc. etc. etc. But dang it, enough is enough with these lockdowns. Forcing people to stay at home away from the activities they enjoy and the loved ones they want to be close to is just going to drive them off the deep end. I'm firmly convinced more people will die from suicide resulting from the intense mental pressure of being confined so long than by the virus itself.
So enough with this business of blaming Mr. Cain for his own demise or Trump for holding the rally Cain attended. A good man is gone from us. Who the hell cares how he contracted COVID? Can't people just say rest in peace or say nothing at all and be done with it?
