Carlos Ghosn, Nissan's ex-head, flees Japan to Lebanon

Former Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn has travelled to Lebanon after fleeing Japan, where he faces a trial over allegations of financial misconduct.

In a statement, Mr Ghosn said he had not fled justice but "escaped injustice and political persecution".

His lawyer said he was "dumbfounded" by the news and that he had not recently spoken with his client.

I'm surprised the Japanese weren't watching him more closely.
In any case, the prosecution is over.
He won't be going back.

I know it was a done deal more than a decade ago,but I STILL have a hard time believing the Japanese government allowed the freaking French to buy control of Nissan.

Surprising no one that has ever owned a car and read a newspaper,Nissan has been sliding into the dumper ever since. Their new trucks are right at the bottom of the list of "least reliable new trucks to buy" list, and when the Japanese still ran it,their stuff was as good as anyone's.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

The long arm of the law is after this guy, I don't know if he can survive an "Interpol" warrant issued to Lebanon:

This includes pilots.

So, apparently, a big deal.
