Michael Moore: 'I Am the Center. I Am the Mainstream Now of the Democratic Party'
By Rick Moran November 22, 2019

Radical-left filmmaker Michael Moore said on an MSNBC panel discussion after the Democratic debate that his views now represent the "center" and "mainstream" of the Democratic Party.

He also said that “The majority of Americans agree with me and Bernie on all the issues," which makes the "center" of the Democratic Party somewhere to the left of Karl Marx. "Bernie" is, of course, Senator Bernie Sanders, an avowed socialist and one of the top contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Democrats should probably tell Moore to put a sock in it, or he'll lose them the election.

"The American people have moved left. So, the center is now more of these sorts of things. This is what we believe. So, when you say, like, for instance, with Joe Biden said tonight, 160 million Americans want to keep their private insurance. Says who? Are you actually talking to people about this? Yes, they want the insurance that whatever we have with the new Medicare For All is essentially just a transfer from what we have with their good union health care, it’s going to be that but it’s going to be better for you, you’re not going to have copays and deductibles — fine."

"The average Democrat and the average American does not like the health insurance company. They hate Aetna and Cigna and United Health Care. These are people that they’re fighting with to get them to pay a bill that they won’t pay. The health care industry has caused more pain and harm and anxiety for the American people than practically any other industry. And we should never side with candidates that are — say we’re going to keep this private profit-making thing going."

You’re not the center, Mikey. You revolve around the center. Like a planetoid—or in your case, a planet—revolves around the sun.

I think he is correct, his views are the center, of the Dem Party (which is what he claimed).

I just wish the R Party would resist the siren call to move leftward.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Well, as an example, they had a ballot initiative in CO( a state Hillary carried)to dump private insurance and replace it with a Medicare for All program and the voters sent it down in flames. In fact, even Democrats in cities like Aspen and Denver gave it a big thumbs down.  The  main reasons why is people would lose their private insurance and their taxes would go up. Polls have also shown that people are, by  overwhelming margins,  satisfied with their private insurance.

On taxes, if the American public loved higher taxes why are they leaving places like California and Illinois? Michael Moore is falling into the trap of believing the country agrees with him.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

From the article....

The health care industry has caused more pain and harm and anxiety for the American people than practically any other industry.”

He really believes this. An industry that has brought advanced medicine and life-saving cures to millions of people in his mind has actually cause more harm and pain. This is why they want to shut down industries they don’t like. Industries that have advanced the prosperity and life of mankind.

I’ve worked in the healthcare industry my whole adult life. I don’t think people really understand how Medicare co-pays and Medicare reimbursement actually work. And I have a strong hunch Michael Moore has no idea himself, either. Medicare does not pay for everything and is paying for less and less as the years have gone on

  • I'll make Mincemeat out of 'em"
The fatal flaw in Medicare for all is that Medicare only survives now because the rest of the health care system makes it financially possible.  Very few doctors would survive with a practice that paid only Medicare reimbursement rates.  Most who accept Medicare -- and many don't -- also have other patients who pay higher rates.  If you tried to go "Medicare for All", a huge number of doctors wouldn't go along with that.  That means that there would be massive waits for seeing the doctors who did accept Medicare, while the better doctors would stay private and service the wealthy who would retain private insurance or simply pay out of pocket.

The middle and working class would end up getting worse overall care.
