If you have seen YouTube's new detailed policy about posting videos for kids and think they have gone insane, you would not be alone as you can see in this recent Pewdiepie video.

COPPA (Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act) and the FTC are responsible along with a bunch of nanny staters.

The legislation is written very poorly and the FTC threatens fines of ~$43k per violation to content creators.

Yeah, I had the biggest PING list (still do) at FR for the DUmmie FUnnies although I got burned out at doing the written blog. Now I just do DUmmie FUnnies videos and to prevent burnout, I do non-political videos on weekends. I was just on a cruise to the Caribbean and out of nowhere someone asked me a current events question and I honestly told him that I was so into relaxing on the cruise that I couldn't get my mind to focus on politics at all. To tell the truth, I was more focused on my drinks.

p.s. I am sort of weening myself away from FR.

Charles and I met up in person for the first time last July in Tampa. He was there for a Lutheran convention and I was there with relatives to visit Weeki Wachee which wasn't far away so on the way home we met up for dinner.

I read the other day that Weeki Wachie is getting rid of the Mermaids. That makes me sad.

Have you ever met @Luis Gonzalez? He used to live in your neck of the woods. Mrs. Liberty and I have broken bread with him a couple of times.

I hadn't heard that about the mermaids. That would be a stupid move to get rid of the mermaids since that is the main attraction there.

I am also a Youtube denizen. getting the lion's share of my entertainment there...
This is terribly frustrating to me, and i get why content providers are, yet again, shaking in their boots.

I tend to watch christian and homesteading/farming/ranching content, among other things, and these channels are firmly in the gray area of 'family friendly content', especially where christian and homesteading intersect...

Folks may not understand how drastic youtube is getting in its war against the right.
Of the 40 or so Christian channels I have had subbed, at my most recent cleaning, only around 10 remain... And it is nearly as bad in the homesteading stuff. Fully half of them are gone.

And I fully expect yet another decimation this January.

We desperately need another place to be.
