California has a body of laws, pertaining to real estate, agency etc.
I learned once, that similar laws to not pertain to insurance agents.
No idea about other states, financial fiduciaries lawyers, etc.
But generally a principal uses another as an "agent."
The idea of going to the tax preparer, is beyond the pale.
