I so enjoy Rick Beato’s critiques of popular music. Been listening to this latest one today. “Kiss From a Rose” has been on my favorites list for decades. Beato breaks it down to its base components and helps me understand WHY I like it so much. He’s a great teacher.

"Outtayerdaminde" by Five Times August (2021) Lyric & Music Video

Lyrics:   OUTTAYERDAMINDE

Oh my, heavy times
Everybody's angry, living lies
And you broke joke woke folk
Think you're gonna save the day
You've gone outtayerdaminde, kids
Nobody cares about what you say

So you scream "oh please, look at me!"
Living through an iPhone TikTok dream
Rate me, date me, grade me, pay me
Begging for attention, boo hoo
You've gone outtayerdaminde, kid
Nobody cares about what you do

Want to play the victim?
Want to be the hero?
Lookin' like a miserable confused weirdo
Think you've got it figured out for everybody else
When you don't even know yourself
All your selfies ain't no revolution
They're slowing down our evolution
I s'pose I need to apologize
And if I don't you'll hope and wish I die

Oh cool, another rule
Made up by a teenage rebel who loves
Big tech, big pharm, big gov, big laws
Gonna talk about it on their new blog
You've gone outtayerdaminde, kid
Nobody cares 'bout what you want

So you cry "not true, I'll fact check you"
Getting your opinion approved
By some desperate, faceless, nameless, brainless,
Intern writer for the fake news
Hey, you're outtayerdaminde, kid
Nobody cares about what they say

Think you got a voice?
Think you got a choice?
Think you're something special
In the corporate white noise?
Tweet this, post that, gram this, Tok that
Swipe left, tap here, tube this, not that
You think that they're on your side?
They only share what they decide.
You're just part of the corruption
That's peddling crap for mass consumption

Oh geez, you labeled me
You're tolerance is so extreme
Which one do I get to be?
A fascist, bigot, or nazi?
You're outtayerdaminde kid
'Cause I don't care 'bout what you think

Oh my, heavy times
Everybody's angry, living lies
And you broke joke woke folk
Think you're gonna save the day?
You've gone outtayerdaminde, kids
Nobody cares about what you say

You've gone outtayerdaminde, kid
Nobody cares about what you say

You've gone outtayerdaminde
Nobody cares about what you say

Heard him a few times locally. Some great fiddle players up this way. Yeah, we are pretty country around here, but odd the little community he calls home is one tiny liberal nitch. Beautiful country.

.....hmm it's been a long long time, but the only sax player that I recall was male??  You're probably right though as I never saw him other than a couple of times in a bar.  I was never fortunate enough to go see him in concert once he made a name for himself.

Elton John - "Circle of Life"    IMHO the best pianist to ever live.  I love the piano (yes I play, sort of ) and I am tremendously in awe every time I hear him bang away on those ivories!  (I was fortunate to see him in concert 3 times). This is one of my favorite Elton John tunes.

@libertybele

Now you are getting into the industrial-strength blues!

I love it to death! Janis was one of the greatest,if not THE greatest female "gut bucket" blues singers in history.

I also love the hell out of Adele, but her blues are the refined blues.

Love Edith Piaf too,but don't speak French and don't have a clue as to what she is singing. I just know she sings the HELL out of it.

@libertybele

@sneakypete  I absolutely agree!!! IMO Janis was the greatest female vocalist ever!!!

@rustynail

The banjo-playing guy has a hell of a good voice on him,and deserved better than the gangsta-rap crap he is dealing with.

The female with the fiddle is pretty damn good, too.

You owe it to yourself to give a listen to both Adele and Edith Piaf.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.
