There’s nothing wrong with a nation having strong leadership—if you’re the United States, with a sound constitutional Republic, civilian military leadership, democratic election processes, and with an historic role and strong standing in world leadership.
I think Donald Trump is the strong leader we needed at this moment in our history, and ironically—it was his presence in the election of 2016 that drew so many subversive attacks and helped alert us to the corruption and elite mindset that had settled into the top ranks of the intelligence community, and on newspaper editorial boards and corporate news networks, and among too many leaders in Congress.
A course correction would be needed. But, that kind of leadership was nowhere to be found in official Washington among the professional political class.
So it’s Trump who we got and it’s Trump who is re-elected, hands down. The speculation that Trump declines to run again is nonsense. He has just begun important course correcting with the Barr and Durham investigations.
