North Korea News: Pictures Show Kim Jong Un Riding Horse Up A Sacred Mountain, Could He Soon Make An Important Announcement?
By Wesley Dockery    10/16/19 AT 2:11 PM

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been riding a white horse up Mount Paektu, a sacred mountain depicted on the country's national emblem. North Korea also claims Kim Jong Un's father, Kim Jung Il, was born on the mountain.

"He, sitting on the horseback atop Mount Paektu, recollected with deep emotion the road of arduous struggle he covered for the great cause of building the most powerful country, with faith and will as firm as Mount Paektu," North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency said of Kim's journey.

The mountain is the highest point on the Korean Peninsula. The white horse is also an important symbol, as Kim Jong Un's grandfather, Kim Jung Sung, supposedly rode a white house while fighting Japanese colonialism.

This would not be the exact same thing as the legendary "Chollima" winged horse of Korean mythology but it is a bit similar.
