Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) collapsed in the rotunda of the Cannon Office Building on Thursday minutes before he was scheduled to appear on Fox Business.

“Paramedics are checking Rep. Reed’s vitals now. He was unconscious for about 30 seconds or so after he hit the ground. He was moments away from a live television hit, but thankfully that moment did not happen on-air,” said Reporter Samantha-Jo Roth in a tweet. “Paramedics have wheeled in a gurney with the intention of taking him out of the rotunda momentarily.”

Reed was on the Cannon Rotunda near his Congressional office when he reportedly fainted or passed out.

Medical personnel were on the scene and Reed was responsive and talking.

This happened in the mid afternoon in DC. I wonder if dehydration was the//a cause.

He has a history of heart issues (he had a pulmonary embolism right after first being elected; he was only 39 at the time) and was obese for much of his pre-congressional life. It might be heart-related. It might be heat.

Right now the "Nothing to see here" comment from his press lackey isn't helping matters.
