Black Pastors Group Calls On Nike To Dissolve Relationship With Colin Kaepernick: ‘Kaepernick’s Views On America And The Flag Are Fringe Opinions’

Compelling statement

A group of black pastors has demanded that Nike sever ties with football player-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick over his political views.

The group has also called for the popular sportswear brand to reinstate its Betsy Ross flag shoes, which the company pulled after Kaepernick insisted were inappropriate as they were a throwback to the slave era.

What are the details?

The Coalition of African-American Pastors says that Kaepernick’s thoughts — including those on the flag shoe design — are too far on the fringe for a company like Nike.

Whether at the $30 (in stores, on sale) level or at the $200, level, Nike has plenty of price- and quality-equivalent competition. I haven't bought anything Nike in over a year and a half, buying ASICS, Hoka, Brooks, and Mizuno instead. New Balance and ASICS are two brands than have models across the full price spectrum. If you need athletic shoes, going Nike-free is easy.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

The Nike people are too stupid to understand this?

More likely the Nike people realize that the people who buy most of their shoes think Kaepernick is speaking the truth, and therefore his presence will enhance Nike’s sales.  I don’t know if it’s panned out that way, but that’s most likely the thinking.

Nike manufactures shoes using slave labor.  They know a useful idiot when they see one.

From what I've read, their stock price is up about 10% since Kap came on board. There's obviously a lot more SJW's buying Nike than the rest of us.

Nike has decided to be the athletic shoe purveyor to the "woke", and doesn't give a d*mn about the rest of the market.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

And that's fine and their decision to make.  I don't believe I've ever owned a Nike product and don't plan on changing now.

Most likely because that’s where most of their market is.  If pandering to one subset of the total market more than offsets the losses from the people who get turned off by the pandering, then the pandering is economically rational.

Fila, Saucony, Addidas, Puma and others.

Nike made a decision. They should be made to reconsider, if making their brand a political symbol is good for business longer term.

This should get interesting. Traditionally, nobody in black neighborhoods has more influence than the ministers,so this is really a face-off for power. Will  Nike win,or will the ministers win?
