Someone on Twitter calls Candace Owens a "n-word"; doesn't violate Twitter rules

Earlier today, I was reading some tweets and found where a poster @GeoffThorne  had tweeted the following to conservative Candace Owens (a black woman):

@RealCandaceO @robsmithonline they will never accept you. they will never think off you as anything but an obedient n***er. you will never be one of them. they see you as a trained animal that does the right tricks. one can only pray you never realize because, if you do, what's left of your soul will crack.

He used the actual word, not asterisks.

Needless to say, many people were outraged. I filed an abuse report. Twitter's response:

I found this particularly amusing because I once was placed in Twitter jail for tweeting this to PETA, which was complaining about the torture of animals killed to be eaten by humans. I wrote:

   @peta No torture necessary. Kill them quickly and then cook to order.

I was saying that there is no need to torture animals. Apparently, PETA didn't agree, because they complained to Twitter and I promptly received this notice:

Your account ... has been locked for violating the Twitter Rules.
Specifically for:
Violating our rules against abusive behavior.
You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.

To repeat, it's not abusive to call a young woman a n****r, but it is to imply that it's possible to kill animals humanely before eating them.

Why do I suspect that if anyone used that same epithet toward Maxine Waters, Ilhan Omar, or any leftist black woman, Twitter wouldn't be quite so forgiving?

Not if the one doing the name-calling is black and/or a leftist.  Geoff is covered, IOW.  And this type of hyper-biased moderation (against anyone on the right) has been going on for decades.  Twitter is just trying to catch up.
