Minnesota Senate Bans Cellphones While Driving EXCEPT for Hijabed Muslimas, No Ban for Them
By Pamela Geller - on March 26, 2019

Legislating Islamic supremacism. The Minnesota Senate on Monday voted 56-10 to advance a House-passed cell phone ban  bill (SF 91 – see bill here). But the Senate added an amendment that exempts hijabed Muslims. Equality for all before the law? Not under sharia law – special rules for a special class, Muslim special privilege under new Minnesota law.

Minnesota Senate approves ban on using cellphone while driving

By Dana Ferguson | Forum News Service: March 25, 2019:

A proposal to ban holding a cellphone while driving in Minnesota remains on track to become law.

The Minnesota Senate on Monday voted 56-10 to advance a House-passed distracted-driving bill. But the Senate added an amendment that would exempt those who place a phone to their ear using a scarf, hijab or another article of clothing from the penalty.

If I am not mistaken, Governor Pawlenty instituted Sharia Law at one time.  The experiment was a failure and it was rescinded.    Minnesota must have something really special in their drinking water.

Pam is misrepresenting what this states. This isn't exempting Muslims from the law, the amendment adds an exception for using a scarf, hajib, or other clothing from using the phone in a hands-free manner. It only iuses the hajib as an example,. It it still has to be used hands free (so not excepting them from the law).

I've seen non Muslim ladies do this, they tuck the phone in a scarf while they are talking and driving so they technically aren't holding the phone (and this not breaking the law).

This isn't Sharia law or Shakira law or anything like that.

Someone needs to sell a ball cap with a phone holder.

From reading the article, Muslims are NOT the only exception here, it mentions scarfs,  it would seem one could be using an athletic headband as well, maybe some winter clothing as well.  Apparently, Geller posts fake news again.

Whatever happened to equal protection of the law?
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Newer cars have Apple Play or Android Play installed. You hook your phone up to it and just say “Hey Siri” or what ever the word is for an Android phone, and it will read your texts or call and or return calls. You never have to touch your phone.

Of course you can choose not to use it.

Oh and Amazon is coming out with a box for cars that sits on your dash and you tell Alexa anything you want done, including turning on or off your lights when you come home.

The law reads "You can use your hand if it has a cloth in it."? That is the dumbest thing I ever heard. Holding a phone is holding a phone, I don't care if you have a cat in it.
