Desperate times call for desperate measures, but you might be taking that a little bit too far.  Don't you have some nice technical manuals sitting around somewhere (preferably poorly-translated from the original Chinese) that you could read??

It wasn't out of desperation (though normally I'd have waited until the w/e). My wife picked up the instructions & forms yesterday at our county library.
