Colin Kaepernick's NFL collusion settlement is potentially 'in the $60 million to $80 million range'
From the article:
"team officials are speculating to me [that] the NFL paid Kaepernick in the $60 million to $80 million range."
In other words, they pulled a number out of their backside.
Like I pointed out before, the fact that he flamed out in 2016, sat out 2017 and 2018, and is still demanding $20 million a year in 2019 pretty much killed Kaepernick's case. If he got $1 million out of the NFL, he's lucky.
Besides, you're talking about a guy who hired Mark Geragos, who's won about one case in his whole career and is known for defending total sleazeballs like Gary Condit, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson, and Susan McDougal (yes, a Clinton associate managed to get sent to jail, all because of his incompetence). There's no way Geragos was able to extract that much money from the NFL. Period.
(Oh, and by the way, this is the year the NFL starts bringing in about $170 million a year for the next decade from the Raiders, Chargers and Rams as part of those relocation deals. Even if it were a large sum, they're still in the black.)
