I am remembering Trump's campaign website, where there was a bunch of nonsensical bullshit about illegal immigration; a bunch of words that meant whatever the reader wanted them to mean.  I think we may be finding out that we're actually getting the nonsensical bullshit.  Like you, I hope I'm wrong.

My limited perspective comes from my time in the military. The day I stepped into a particular job, such as platoon leader or battery commander, everything that my unit did, or failed to do, was my responsibility. It was a hard lesson for a 22 YO barely out of college, but I learned from it.

So I don't want to hear any excuses from Trump or his supporters.

Not sure about the second.  The guy's got more money than he's got a use for, and could make it faster NOT being POTUS.  I mean, once you can afford one aircraft carrier, what's the point of a second?

I believe POTUS simply served one of two goals.  The first would be ego.  The second would be that he loves this country and wants to give back (though I tend to disagree on many of his methods).

Suppose Trump IS taking Americans for a ride.  That should be a consideration from all of us.  So far placing unarmed guards at the border and sending troops in to help process paperwork for asylum is NOT resolving the illegal immigration problem, building a wall nor preventing further caravans from coming here.

Listening to what he says is one thing.  Watching what he does is quite another and I find it really surprising that people refuse to acknowledge what is going on. When the Trump says one thing, yet does another, that should open one's eyes. The Trumpsters in here have stated that he's got this under control and is waiting for the next move on this.  Really?  Unarmed guards at the border is NOT  having things under control!
