Migrant Caravan Swells to More Than 5,000 As Group Marches Toward US
Washington Post, Oct 21, 2018, 6:55 PM

TAPACHULA, Mexico — The caravan of migrants from Central America grew to roughly 5,000 Sunday, a massive group that stretched along this city’s main highway for more than a half-mile.

They spoke in different accents, fleeing different disasters: joblessness in parts of Honduras, a mounting political crisis in Nicaragua, cities in Guatemala where they were sure their children would languish as they had.

And then there were the deportees. Many of the migrants here had previously lived in the United States, for years or even decades, joining the caravan to reunite with their children, or to resume old jobs. They were undeterred by the American authorities who had apprehended them or the U.S. president who promised to keep them out again.

Some of them had returned voluntarily to their home countries long ago, but eventually determined that there was nothing there for them. Now, they were traversing Mexico while President Trump tweeted about their journey, demanding that the migrants apply for asylum in Mexico before continuing north, threatening to close the U.S. border as Mexican authorities appeared to allow the caravan to proceed.

“It’s time for me to go back to the United States. It’s a country where I can live my life, unlike Guatemala,” said Job Reyes, 36, who had spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Los Angeles, attending kindergarten through high school there.  [...]

Imner Anthony Fuentes, 29, had the same reaction. He had been deported five months ago from Birmingham, Ala. His son was still living there, with his U.S. citizen girlfriend, not far from the framing store where Fuentes had worked for six years. He was used to the back-and-forth: He said he had been deported six times.

“That’s just how it is,” Fuentes said. “They catch you, and you try to get back.”

@Right_in_Virginia, do you think Trump would really send the military to the border?

I think they're begging him to @CatherineofAragon   From the looks of it, they will leave the POTUS no choice.

The U.N. will now take over and decide the fate of these 5,000 as to whether or not they are granted asylum and those who are will be placed in host countries; including the U.S.A.

I agree.  We'll probably have people marching in the streets again, but let them.

Mexican authorities had refused to allow the caravan mass entry from Guatemala, instead accepting small groups to process asylum requests and handing out some 45-day visitor permits. An estimated 1,500 were still on the Guatemalan side of the Suchiate, hoping to enter legally.

But police could do little if anything in the face of the throngs who avoided the official entry point and crossed the notoriously porous border elsewhere.

Migrants marching north Sunday said they gave up on Mexico because the application process was too slow, and most wanted to continue to the United States anyway.

And will be here, heck, I don't know, you know the mid-term is about 16 days away, that seems like that is when they might get here.  I have no idea what a walking pace would be.... mountains, deserts and so on..... So, politically motivated it seems. Another poster came up with the time frame but it makes sense.

Full efforts are being made to stop the onslaught of illegal aliens from crossing our Souther Border. People have to apply for asylum in Mexico first, and if they fail to do that, the U.S. will turn them away. The courts are asking the U.S. to do things that are not doable!

Here's the problem with that sending the military to the border bit.   The caravan is probably intending to enter the US via the California border right before the election.  It's going to be a massive cluster-you-know-what due to the leftist, open borders, sanctuary state ""leadership"" there currently (Brown).  Considering the resistance Trump will have just sending the US military there, it's probably not going work.... and all of those "migrants" will probably be welcomed with opened arms by Brown.

If, on the other hand, the caravan doesn't get there until AFTER the Nov. 6 election and if a miracle happens.... ie a Republican Governor (Cox) is elected vs. Newsom.... it might be a whole different scenario.  Everything is, quite literally, up in the air.

They're not even quarantining the ones coming in as we speak.  The so-called shelters and border enforcement facilities are already over-flowing.  And how really stupid is it of that Luis idiot claiming that they are "warriors".  Like.. on top of spreading any diseases they have, they also are claiming to be that?  Seriously?    Not just no, but HELL no.

The heavily financed horde of Central American migrants has overwhelmed the token resistance from Mexican military and advanced north toward the Southern U.S. border.  As described by the Associated Press today: “growing army of migrants resumes march toward US.”  This is a well financed, well organized, left-wing political operation strategically timed to reach the U.S. border and coincide with the 2018 mid-term election.

Estimates as to the number of economic migrants varies between 7,000 to 10,000 and the numbers are growing fast as they are now facilitated by, and joined by, ideological comrades within Mexico.   The ‘invasion force’ is now more than two-miles long. The group claims to be fleeing violence in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, yet the group has deployed violence against Mexican officials who are vastly outnumbered.

Anything the President tries to do legally will be struck down by a judge. He should call the Mexican president and tell him if these people get within a 100 miles of our border the U.S military will cross the Rio Grande and create a buffer zone.  Then close the border and halt all money transfers to Mexico.

Maybe Trump should just announce that the US is taking over Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico... to fix their governments so that these poor people don't have to "flee" from their own damned countries.  It'll be for the cheeldren.

Neither are the Republicans and the entirety of this government.

Something you are about to see for yourself firsthand if recent history, and all the rumblings I am reading play out as I think they are.

Of course, an emoting people are easily beguiled by kabuki theater, window dressing and empty statements.

Closing the border and stopping all Immigration at this time is imperative if we are going to survive another generation, and you already know that no one in government has any intention of doing that, even if Trump himself actually does - which I doubt.

I guess most conservatives know how important this particular situation is.  If not handled correctly, it's the end of America as we have known it.  Liberals are determined to destroy the country. We can't let them.

There is NO WAY to handle "it' correctly with a pussified and PC-wimped generation of emoting Americans who buy the optics of a manufactured event or person to sate and suit their itching ears and sensibilities.

The ONLY way to handle it - is to call the Invasion Army what it is - and not allow it to be referenced as 'migrants; 'refugees'; or 'asylum seekers' - regardless whether or not they have families with children pushed to the fore for the perfect shields and photo op.

Close the borders, shut down ALL immigration - repel invaders and prepare for the riots and mayhem the Left and this government will incite because they want the Trojan Horse brought into our gates.

Well, actually the horse was let in decades ago.  All we're doing is bitching about putting a fence up to slow the tide.

A welfare state with open borders cannot survive another generation.  A nation with avowed Islamic enemies with open borders cannot survive another decade.

A nation, that has abandoned it foundational principles for the gratification of promise and platitude, is already doomed to be conquered.

If you ponder to think about the logistics of this paid invasion operation, the scope of it starts getting clearer.

The horde are moving through cartel territory in Mexico, where the police presence is either non-existent or on cartel payroll. The cartels want their cut on every head passing through...or an arrangement has been made in advance.

Why couldn't Mexico stop 5000 invaders? Are they that weak.... or was it because they didn't want to and other 'arrangements' have been made?

Think about this, how many tons of food does it take to feed 10,000 plus people per day moving North through an entire country?  .Who is supplying all that food and water in the midst of an impoverished 3rd world hellhole that has it's own citizens scrambling North to get onto our welfare system?

This is all coordinated in advance, with local officials.  We've already seen the videos of cash being handed out to the "migrants" who call themselves "warriors" and bore their own flags.

This Invasion column has to be cooperating with Mexican officials and the cartels or there is no way such an invasion force is able to move at such distance with plenty of provision.

And most of the pics are of military aged males in that horde of invaders.  The women and kids are pushed up front and along the sides for photo-ops.

We are about to be invaded by a force of hostiles with the full intention to plunder and worse.

Look at Europe today.  That is your future tomorrow.

Ragged, growing caravan of migrants resumes march toward US
Associated Press, Oct 22, 2018

TAPACHULA, Mexico (AP) — A growing caravan of Honduran migrants streamed through southern Mexico on Sunday heading toward the United States, after making an end-run around Mexican agents who briefly blocked them at the Guatemalan border.

They received help at every turn from sympathetic Mexicans who offered food, water and clothing. Hundreds of locals driving pickups, vans and cargo trucks stopped to let them clamber aboard.

Besi Jaqueline Lopez of the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula carried a stuffed polar bear in a winter cap that seemed out of place in the tropical heat. It’s the favorite — and only — toy of her two daughters, 4-year-old Victoria and 3-year-old Elisabeth, who trudged beside her gleaming with sweat.

A business administration graduate, Lopez said she couldn’t find work back home and hopes to reach the United States, but would stay in Mexico if she could find employment here.

“My goal is to find work for a better future for my daughters,” she said.

In dozens of interviews along the journey, they have said they are fleeing widespread violence, poverty and corruption in Honduras. The caravan is unlike previous mass migrations for its unprecedented large numbers, and because it largely began spontaneously through word of mouth.

Guatemala’s migration agency confirmed that another group of about 1,000 migrants crossed into the country from Honduras on Sunday.

Couldn't sleep, so early this a.m., I was up watching some overnight news from ABC.  Of course, there was a segment about the caravan and ABC has a reporter travelling with them.  The report was designed to tug at the heart strings.   One sob story after the other.  One woman with her kids said her husband had been killed by gangs. In another portion of the story, a child is overcome by the heat and collapses.  According to the story, all these people are escaping poverty and violence and are coming here for a better life.  Of course, it's not mentioned  that they want us taxpayers to just  give them that better life free of charge.

Added to the guilt trip coming from the media is one from the Catholic Church.  There was an interview with some clergyman who repeated the church's previous position that we Americans have to take these people in, or we aren't good Christians.  I used to be a Catholic and had at one point considered returning to the church.  But the church's constant guilt trip on its members is wearying.  Don't we all pay taxes that go to these countries in the form of foreign aid?  Don't many people of faith contribute to their churches' missions in some of these countries?  Seems to me that we Americans do far more for the less fortunate than anyone else in the world.  But the rest of the world insists we don't do enough.  The H with that.

I refuse to be guilted into welcoming the invaders and giving them the good life at our expense.  Enough is enough.   Treat them as any other invasionary force.  If they don't go home and cross our border, shoot them.  Let the UN, the Catholic Church and the rest of the world whine and complain.  Our government's first and foremost obligation is to protect us citizens.  If the president and the rest of our representatives in DC aren't going to do that, then they should be removed from office.

Anything the President tries to do legally will be struck down by a judge. He should call the Mexican president and tell him if these people get within a 100 miles of our border the U.S military will cross the Rio Grande and create a buffer zone.  Then close the border and halt all money transfers to Mexico.
Not just Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras as well.

Declare a state of emergency, deploy 2cd Marine Division to secure the southern border with fencing backed up with armed guard towers.  Just like they have a Guantanamo Bay.
