Susan Christensen sworn in as Iowa's newest Supreme Court justice

Susan Christensen applied 14 times to be a judge before becoming Iowa's newest Supreme Court justice.

That persistence is indicative of the passion and work ethic she will bring to Iowa's high court, those who know her said at her swearing-in ceremony Friday.

Christensen succeeded three times in her judicial applications: in 2007 when she became a district associate judge; in 2015 when she became a district court judge; and this year when Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed her to the Iowa Supreme Court.
