Scientific studies behind Michelle Obama school lunch program retracted
By Rick Moran

We all know that the nutrition industry has more than its share of fakes, charlatans, and snake oil salesmen.  But it was thought that scientific studies published in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) had the advantage of being peer-reviewed and critiqued by objective experts.

That may be so.  But the scandal involving one of the most popular – and most published – nutrition researchers in the world should make us question everything we've been told about how to eat healthy.

There were scientific studies?  I just thought Michelle wanted to starve the kiddies to death.  LOL

Seriously, even to this uneducated old lady, the program seemed horribly unsound.  Inadequate portions and a number of nutritious foods that were banned.  No peanut butter?  Peanut butter has a lot of fat, but in moderation it is healthy.  It provides a number of nutrients.  Nothing wrong with peanut butter unless you consume the whole jar in one sitting.

The poor kids were being starved and malnourished.  Why both parties allowed this program to go on for so long without question is beyond me.
