MONEY MYSTERIES  Painted murals found in a small pyramid at the Classic Maya site of Calakmul depict scenes of people exchanging and consuming goods in what may have been a marketplace. Stylistic details indicate that the images date to nearly 1,400 years ago.

Wherever you go, money talks. And it has for a long time.

Sadly, though, money has been mum about its origins. For such a central element of our lives, money’s ancient roots and the reasons for its invention are unclear.

As cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin multiply into a flock of digital apparitions, researchers are still battling over how and where money came to be. And some draw fascinating parallels between the latest, buzzworthy cryptocurrencies, which require only a virtual wallet, and a type of money developed by one Micronesian island community that wouldn't fit in anyone's wallet, pocket or purse.

When it comes to money’s origins, though, conflict reigns. Economists have held one view of money’s origins for hundreds of years. But a growing number of anthropologists and archaeologists, holding a revisionist view, say that economists’ standard story is bankrupt.

Perhaps money-like artifacts arose in multiple places, more or less independently?

Bones, stones, seeds, beads??

Money is no mystery. It is an item that serves as a store for wealth and medium of exchange. It's value and fungibility is completely subjective and dependent on an existing population that will accept it in exchange for some good or service, in a certain ratio.

It is exists in a inverse relationship with goods, what you get for how much you give, going both directions. Both money and goods can lose or gain value based on the law of supply and demand due to variables on both sides of the equation.

If you understand that, money and it's value becomes an easy concept.

Early Hunter-Gather Days:

--Ambitious "gatherer," works overtime. and acquires a "Surplus" of seeds, tubors, roots, non-perishable food items.

They discover these items, will last until next season.

I would wager that the"origin" of money,, was to store value to purchase food. Initially.

Or perhaps to purchase firewood.

Then cometh The Big Orange Trump forefather. He occupies the bank of the river, starts charging for right to cross from His Landes. Next he buys the opposite shorline, as well. He jacks up crossing prices.

He then begins buying women, from near and far, using "money" he entrusts with Saul Cohen.

Still later he buys more land, and more women, and bankers, boats etc.

Later stil he turns to owning inns, where people can play games with their own money.

Eventually he grows bored. He decides he wants to be King of All the Landes.

To gain the Throne, he would have to defeat both the Bush and the Clinton dynasties, who have many supporters among rich bankers, business owners , government workers and fake rune carvers.

But alas, he won and the Kingdom began improving immediately.
