Deliverance.... to some like me, first means to be rescued from bondage of hell through Christ's redeeming blood...
To others, primarily it is a 1970s Burt movie with a cool scene filmed in rural Georgia where they play a rendition of "fuedin banjos" from 1955.
"Fuedin Banjos" later dubbed "Duelling Banjos" by a movie company that tried to steal the rights to it without paying the original writter Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith. The song first came to my attention when Andy Griffin played it on his show on one episode. But the movie "Deliverance" made the bluegrass sound famous worldwide.
