Probably not much ice melt on those days.

28 June 2018 – Snow surface temperatures regularly fall below -90°C (-130°F) almost every winter in a broad region of the eastern Antarctic plateau more than 3,500 meters above sea level, according to a new study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

Temperatures at dozens of sites fall much lower. At the South Pole in July and August, for instance, almost 100 locations reach surface temperatures of -98°C (-144°F),

The interior is cold, but that's not where the ice melt is occurring anyway.
