Active Hurricane Season Ahead, NOAA Says
By Mindy Weisberger, Senior Writer | May 24, 2018 01:31pm ET

The NOAA satellite GOES-16 captured this geocolor image of Hurricane Irma passing the eastern end of Cuba at about 8:00 a.m. EDT on Sept. 8, 2017.

Brace yourself for the 2018 hurricane season — it's going to be more active than usual, though less intense than last year's.

Today (May 24), experts with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued their forecast for the Atlantic hurricane season, which begins June 1 and lasts until Nov. 30.

We already have a tropical depression in the Gulf.
As of yesterday, it had a 60% chance of developing.

Alberto was just named the first named-storm of the season.  Will hit the US south soon.

They say this every year.....

We had a very very (as in a mile across),  small thunderstorm last night dump 1.5" of rain on our house.  Funny this didn't make the tropical storm prediction center....lol.
