How monstrous of this pampered pair Harry and Meghan to accept a major award for saying the Royal Family is racist, writes A.N. Wilson

By A.n. Wilson For The Daily Mail

Published: 17:03 EST, 21 November 2022 | Updated: 17:08 EST, 21 November 2022

Harry and Meghan are heroes. It's official. They have been awarded a human rights award for 'their heroic stand against "structural racism" in the monarchy'.

The award is called the Ripple of Hope, and it is given by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organisation, named after the former U.S. attorney general (and brother of John F. Kennedy) who was gunned down by a fanatic in the summer of 1968.

In that summer, which also saw the assassination of civil rights campaigner Dr Martin Luther King, there were indeed some heroes, of whom Dr King was the greatest.

At the time of Dr King's death, Nelson Mandela was in prison in South Africa, where the apartheid regime was in its full, hideous pomp, and Mandela had no obvious hope of ever being released. While Dr King was campaigning during the 1960s, Americans of African origin were strictly segregated in the southern states.

Even in the supposedly liberal northern states, segregation was the norm. At a beautiful swimming club where I go with my grandchildren in ultra-liberal Philadelphia, black people were not allowed to swim until 1967. It was the first place in the United States which allowed black and white friends to swim together.

So you can see why the Kennedy family established their award to combat racism. You see why they gave the award to such towering individuals as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who not only campaigned for an end to apartheid, throughout a long life, but who did so urging both sides to come together in peace. He was a genuine hero who risked his life for the cause over and over again, who lived for most of his days in poverty.

"During apartheid times, the Commonwealth wanted economic sanctions against the racist regime in South Africa. Many successive British governments disagreed. The Head of the Commonwealth, however, our late Queen, consistently sided with Mandela and the other African leaders in their demands for sanctions.

Further back, during the 1950s, it was she — after being warned by Foreign Office mandarins to keep at arm's length the Left-wing future President of Ghana Kwame Nkrumah — who actually went to Accra, the capital, and very publicly danced with the man.

.... When he was Prince of Wales, Charles reached out to immigrant communities in our burgeoning industrial cities long before it occurred to many British politicians to do so. "

...and so, the article goes on.

And it is so true ... "For Meghan Markle and Harry Windsor to have been placed in the same category as such heroic campaigners against racism is preposterous, and their acceptance of this award a monstrous self-conceit. "

Camilla cuddles toddler in adorable moment as she gifts Paddington Bears to children

The Queen Consort cuddled a youngster in a sweet moment today as she re-homed Paddington Bear cuddly toys with vulnerable children at a nursery after thousands were left in tribute to the late monarch. Camilla personally delivered the teddy bears to Barnardo's charity at Bow Nursery in east London, describing it as a "pleasure". ...............

Does anyone know the significance of the yellow ribbons with Queen Elizabeth on them ?

Kate Middleton and Queen Consort Camilla Parker-Bowles could be seen wearing a special brooch in tribute to the Queen yesterday at a lavish state banquet.

The two highest-ranking females within The Firm both donned the badge of the Royal Family Order of Elizabeth II at a white-tie event on Tuesday evening.

King Charles III held the event in Buckingham Palace to mark the state visit of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Signifying an historic honour awarded to the women due to their senior positions in the Royal Family, the small diamond-encrusted brooch includes an icon of a young Queen Elizabeth II in evening dress wearing the ribbon and star of the Order of the Garter.

It also features a small red enamel Tudor Crown at the top. Both women wore the piece along with its chartreuse yellow ribbon................

New book reveals Queen's stoicism in her final months

Quote

A fascinating royal biography sheds new light on Queen Elizabeth's remarkable stoicism in the last months of her life, how she didn't hesitate to 'fire' her own son – and found comfort after her husband's death by watching Line of Duty.

Written by author and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait – which is serialised in The Mail +,  as well as in tomorrow's Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday – is littered with fascinating vignettes about our longest-serving but still so enigmatic sovereign.

Mr Brandreth, who occupies a unique position as a friend and biographer of the Royal Family, reveals how the Queen told a lady-in-waiting that she was determined to keep busy as it helped her cope with the loss in April last year of Philip, her husband of 73 years.

Princess Charlotte Reportedly Becoming ‘Duchess Of Edinburgh’ As Tribute To Queen Elizabeth

King Charles III hasn’t named his brother, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh because he is reportedly saving the title for Charlotte.

King Charles III has reportedly been saving a special title for Princess Charlotte. The new monarch, who took over the British throne following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, is preparing to name Prince William and Kate Middleton’s middle child, who is third in line for the throne, as the Duchess of Edinburgh, per sources for DailyMail. The movie is reportedly in honor of the late Queen, who was also the Duchess of Edinburgh before becoming the ruler in 1952.

“Discussions are under way, but the favored outcome for the King is that this title ought to go to Princess Charlotte,” the insider explained. “It would be a fitting way to remember the Queen – who, of course, had the title Duchess of Edinburgh – and a way for His Majesty to honour the line of succession.”

The outlet went on to say that the revelation came after months of speculation as to why King Charles III had not named his brother, Prince Edward, as the Duke of Edinburgh following the death of their father, Prince Philip, in April 2021.

Princess Charlotte still holds the position of third in line for the throne, behind older brother Prince George, even after their younger brother Prince Louis was born, as the rules of Royal primogeniture were changed to allow a girl born to a royal couple the same rights as a boy when Princess Diana was pregnant with Prince William. With the new rule, Charlotte will not lose her order of succession until George has children. When Prince William becomes King, George will become Duke of Cornwall and then Prince of Wales – but not Duke of Edinburgh.

The DailyMail source added, “Charlotte’s position is historically significant because she is the first female member of the Royal Family whose place in the line of succession will not be surpassed by her younger brother. So it is constitutionally significant because it is not beyond the realms of possibility that she will accede the throne if, for example, Prince George does not have children.”..........

Camilla replaces traditional ladies-in-waiting with ‘Queen’s Companions’

Quote

In an early symbolic break with the past, Camilla, Queen Consort to King Charles III, has dispensed with the tradition of having ladies-in-waiting and instead appointed a group of five personal assistants who will be known as “Queen’s Companions.”

The announcement Sunday from Buckingham Palace was not a surprise, as the likelihood of such a switch was reported by the British press shortly after the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Sept. 8.

Historically, British queens have tapped highborn “ladies-in-waiting” to provide company to the monarch and serve as personal assistants and loyal friends. The position dates to the Middle Ages.

But Camilla, the second wife of Charles, has done away with the traditional title and some of its duties in a modernizing move.

Richard Johnson: Meghan said to be miffed about access to royal jewels

Richard Johnson, New York Daily News
Sat, November 26, 2022 at 9:30 AM

Meghan Markle is said to be fuming that she has no access to the royal jewels. At King Charles III’s first state dinner for South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Queen Consort Camilla wore a diamond and sapphire tiara that belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, while the Princess of Wales, Kate, wore the pearl and diamond tiara that was the favorite crown of the late Princess Diana. Markle is said to feel left out. Meghan is still Duchess of Sussex, but has no right to borrow the royal tiaras and gems the way her rivals do. All Meghan has is a pair of modest pearl and diamond earrings that Queen Elizabeth gave her.

She trashed the Royal Family and yet she still feels 'entitled' to borrow the jewels and tiaras that have been in the family for decades. I think she's fortunate that the Queen gave her some pearl and diamond earrings.

Just go away Markle.  Live your Hollywood dream and keep pretending that you are 'entitled' to anything of the Royals. The Brits don't care for you and neither do many Americans.  You are garbage.

Prince and Princess of Wales to Visit Boston as the Royal Family Recasts Itself

On its face, the visit by William and Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales, to Boston this week is typical of the British royal family’s philanthropic work.

The couple will present awards given out by the Earthshot Prize, an organization founded by William to help entrepreneurs with solutions to climate change and environmental issues.

But the visit is weighted with extra significance as William and Kate visit the United States for the first time in eight years, a time spanning a swell of change for the royal family as it tries to rebrand itself as a modern monarchy.

It will be the first visit by the royal couple to the United States since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September; the first time they touch U.S. soil since Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, left Britain for a more private life in California; the first time they are greeted by an American public that has a deeper understanding of royal life, thanks in part to Netflix’s “The Crown.”

“This is them trying to establish who they are in a more pared-down, streamlined monarchy,” said Arianne J. Chernock, a history professor at Boston University and a scholar of modern Britain. “This is a more updated, modernized family that they want to represent.”

Dr. Chernock said the Earthshot Prize, a cause that the royal family has embraced in recent years, is a way for the prince and princess to explore how they can align themselves with “core, weighty issues and maintain a sense of relevance, as well as a connection with their subjects and global population to justify their existence.”............

I trust they are just attending as Royal business, and not because they really believe in this nonsense.

I would not afford them that trust. I don’t know much about Kate’s upbringing, but William’s father is an enviro-wackjob.  **nononono*
You're everywhere I go, I am not alone
You call me as Your own to know You and be known.
You are holy!
And I fall down on my knees.
I can feel Your presence here with me.
Suddenly I'm lost within Your beauty,
Caught up in the wonder of Your touch.
Here in this moment I surrender to Your love.

William's speech at the Queen's jubilee indicates that he is just as much of an enviro-wackjob if not more so than Charles.

That's a shame.

Buckingham Palace official resigns over ‘unacceptable’ comments to Black charity founder

Quote

An honorary member of Buckingham Palace has resigned and apologized after a Black charity founder said she was questioned about whether she was really British at a royal function on Tuesday.

The royal guest, Ngozi Fulani, is the CEO of Sistah_Space, an organization that provides specialist services to woman of African and Caribbean heritage affected by abuse.

Fulani was attending a royal function on domestic abuse on Tuesday evening when she said an honorary member of the royal household began a line of questioning that the palace called “unacceptable and deeply regrettable.”

Sistah_Space shared a rough transcript of the conversation on Twitter on Wednesday.

‘Harry & Meghan’ documentary reveals ‘what’s happening behind closed doors’
NY Post, Dec 1, 2022

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are baring it all.

The exiled Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s candid Netflix documentary series “Harry & Meghan. A Netflix Global Event” dropped its first trailer on Thursday, giving fans a glimpse at their lives.

The black-and-white one-minute teaser starts with a voice asking the couple: “Why did you want to make this documentary?”

The voice fades and the teaser then proceeds to dramatically show quick flashes of photos of the royal couple looking adoringly at each other.

A shot of the former actress, 41, baring her pregnant belly and Harry, 38, playing the guitar are also included in the photo album.

“No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors,” Harry narrated behind a snapshot of Markle looking distressed. Another scene shows her sobbing while sitting on a chair.

A photo of the former Fab Four — Prince William, Kate Middleton, Markle and Harry — are shown.

The famous photo of the “Suits” star shedding a tear at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September is also featured.

The Invictus Games’ founder is then seen — in color — sitting down with an interviewer, ominously saying, “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”

A medley of baby pictures of Harry and Markle when they were young also whiz by, with the mother-of-two in the teaser concluding: “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

This is true. We didn't see the script for this drama, the rehearsals (no, cry harder!), or how many takes there were.

This all CLEARLY benefits the "out of work tv star",but it does nothing for Harry but make him look like a "whipped teenage boy".

I am guessing that at TIME point, any friends he has left are rented.

A declaration of war: That's how royal insiders describe Netflix trailer for the Harry and Meghan documentary.......
Daily Mail, Dec 1, 2022

Harry and Meghan’s new Netflix documentary is being seen as a ‘declaration of war’ by the royals, sources said last night.

A promotional trailer, which was posted online on the second day of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ high-profile visit to the US, dispelled any hopes that the Sussexes are declaring a ceasefire in their acrimonious battle with the Royal Family.

As well as including dozens of supposedly private pictures from their family album, the footage includes a voiceover from Harry saying gravely, ‘no-one sees what’s happening behind closed doors’ over a black and white picture of his wife on an armchair, apparently crying.

The film then immediately cuts away to a shot focusing on a pinched-looking William and Kate at the 2019 Commonwealth Service in London, with the Sussexes sitting meekly behind them.
