Trying something new tonight. A live thread for the A&E TV Show LivePD.

Those of you who know what the show is know it can be highly entertaining and gives an incredibly up close view of what law enforcement goes through on a daily basis. 7 agencies live and unscripted for 3 hours on Friday and Saturday Night.

Me and the kid have been known to tune in so that we can laugh at losers. My favorite was some MILF out west who got pulled over drunker than hell during broad daylight with a Big Gulp in the cup holder full of vodka.

I have my suspicions about this show being part true and part edited propaganda. The Cops on this show are way, way, way too nice. And they give people who are obviously guilty far too many "breaks" as they call it.

I'm only saying that the way the Cops behave on this show is contrary to my experience with real Cops who are not being broadcast on TV. They will beat the crap out of you if you smart off to them. You never see that on this show.

Not that I spend much time with cops, but they've always been nice to me.

I've learned it's all how you act determines how they act and you see it on here too.

Most of the people on here to they've had interaction with in the past and if they come at a particular perp harder than another it's because they know the person needs to be handled like that.

What I'm saying is in no way anti-Cop. I'm only pointing out the realistic fact that people behave differently when they are on TV than they would if they were in a more private environment. There are hair-trigger hypersensitive Cops out there, but you will never see them on this show. If a Cop got out of line on LivePD it would simply not make it to air.

We are watching this new one.  I told Bob he could not be a cop - I would worry when he left for work that he would die that day.  I worry about Bob's son the United pilot.  He is the best pilot in the world, could take that plane apart, but I worry when he is flying that he will die as something could happen he couldn't fix and he can fix anything.

My son the documentary film maker has forever cop friends in Florida and California as he has made films going with them in their work.  One he worked with in California is now one of the big wigs in the department now.  He made he film, "Heroes Behind the Badge" and it is a required training film in every police dept, in the country.

Also the FBI uses Heroes Behind the Badge.

Thanks for telling us about this program.

Got the baby out.  Cops are just people, good people, they help people in trouble.  The sheriff was really nice, hugged the lady after baby out.
