Not a huge Country Music fan, but that song was pretty awesome. Growing old is complicated. I wonder if she lit the cig for her lost spouse?

Few people know that founding father John Adams was an accomplished singer/songwriter. Here is one of his songs recently found that has an amazing 80s Pop/Ballad sound. /s

This one is dedicated to Tom

Lunatic fringe
I know you're out there
You're in hiding
And you hold your meetings
I can hear you coming
I know what you're after
We're wise to you this time (wise to you this time)
We won't let you kill the laughter

Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh

Lunatic fringe
In the twilight's last gleaming
But this is open season
But you won't get too far
'Cause you've got to blame someone
For your own confusion
We're on guard this time (on guard this time)
Against your final solution

Oh no
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh

We can hear you coming (we can hear you coming)
No, you're not going to win this time (not gonna win)
We can hear the footsteps (we can hear the footsteps)
Hey, out along the walkway (out along the walkway)

Lunatic fringe
We all know you're out there
Can you feel the resistance
Can you feel the thunder

I can’t sleep. I asked Alexa for 80s music

She gave me two wonderful songs

“Skateaway” by Dire Straits

“Take the long way home” by Supertramp

(Though I think the latter is 70s)

Then she ruined it when I asked her for a 70s song.
I got “Alone again naturally “

Now I need a drink and a Kleenex

Oh it’s not Simon and Garfunkel!

Much better than Simon and Garfunkel. Thanks for posting.  I heard this for the first time by Disturbed  a couple of years ago as I was pulling into the grocery store parking lot, and I was absolutely blown away!! It was the first time I had ever heard it and I couldn't turn it off and had to hear it in its entirety. I couldn't believe what an excellent, amazing, incredible rendition it is.  I went home and listened to it about a dozen times that day.

Paul Simon even endorsed him!

For those who haven't heard it ... crank it up!

Walking on sunshine- Katrina and the Waves

November 3, 1989... Katrina and the Waves opened for Squeeze.  Katrina Leskanich was wearing a top with a very loose neck, and no bra. My then-girlfriend (later, wife) and I were at the end of the stage, while everyone was jumping up and down dancing to "Walking on Sunshine" and Miss Leskanich came over to us, bending WAY over, bouncing to the beat of the song.  She then had a "wardrobe malfunction," bouncing right out on one side.

From the look in her eyes, it wasn't intentional.

@Suppressed  That was funny as heck... I had to find the backstory. Seems one band director got everyone to switch instruments to play this song. So some poor flute player was trying to play a trumpet ect... Tuba player trying to play an oboe. Awesome results.

I thought the band was Great. But they didn't get very far. Black people wouldn't support them because they were Heavy Metal. And a lot of White Heavy Metal fans wouldn't support them because they are Black. They were caught in a no-win situation. Still a great band though.

Last night, I had to have my sweet German shorthair pointer, Lola, put down, when her legs went out from under her completely and she couldn't get up again. At 20, she out-lived her breed's normal expectancy by six years, and when she could no longer move I knew the end had to come, I couldn't let her suffer. After being done at the veterinary hospital, I got back into my car and this was playing on the flash drive with which I listen to music while I drive . . . I only wish it was a water song, because Lola loved water . . . she would swim laps across my pool and even stand near me in my walk-in shower just to feel the spray of the water . . .

Lola was the classic case of the lap dog in a guard dog's body. She was a true lover of a dog from the moment I first met her. RIP, my sweet canine friend. Try not to be too eager to chase the boy dogs over the Rainbow Bridge . . .

Sorry to hear about your Friend @EasyAce.  I often wonder what space could possibly be left in our hearts after losing so many dear souls through these many years.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

I'm always amazed, @corbe , at how our hearts find immeasurable new room each time out.
