Today, it’s a peaceful Northumbrian village but for 300 years Corbridge was a busy Roman town spread over more than 40 acres.

“The archaeological potential of Corbridge is almost endless and one day it will turn out to be one of the most important places in Roman Britain,” said Kevin Booth, English Heritage senior curator for the North.
