Lost city of Singapore found, no barrier to dunes developers, attorney says

SAUGATUCK TOWNSHIP, MI - The lost city of Singapore, one of Michigan's most famous ghost towns, is buried under Lake Michigan dunes at the mouth of the Kalamazoo River, an archaeological survey shows.
But there are not intact houses or buildings buried below, only some foundations, some artifacts and a former dump site - nothing that should stop a proposed marina and housing development planned just north of Saugatuck, a proponent said Friday, April 20, in releasing the survey.
