Why is it so stressful to talk politics with the other side?
April 6, 2018 by Melanie Green, The Conversation

People disagree all the time, but not all disagreements lead to the same levels of stress.

Even though people can be passionate about their favorite sport teams, they can argue about which basketball team is the best without destroying friendships. In the workplace, co-workers can often dispute strategies and approaches without risking a long-term fallout.

Political conversations, on the other hand, seem to have become especially challenging in recent years. Stories of tense Thanksgiving dinners and of Facebook friends being unfriended have become commonplace.

Why does this happen?

Because Leftists are cultist utopian psychopaths. They are so convinced of their moral superiority that anything not conforming to their doctrine is worthy of egg breaking jihad.

How about we grow up, quit being little children, and realize that there is no civility and no dialogue with these people? We simply need to mow them down and dump them into the political dustbin of history. You don't negotiate with terrorists.
The Republic is lost.

Well, there's the stupid post of the day.   *****rollingeyes*****

I bow to you Oh Holy One, ye who knows and sees all, and moves galaxies with the flick of his eyelash. Thy word has been spoken, and we must obey.

Come out of the 60's, put down the bong, take off the tie-dye, and clear the rainbow haze out of your eyes Neville Chamberlain. Your delusions of orgasmic bipartisan bliss that solve any kind of problems that this country has will never happen, except in your mind.
The Republic is lost.

The Great Lesson of California in America’s New Civil War

Quote
The next time you call for bipartisan cooperation in America and long for Republicans and Democrats to work side by side, stop it. Remember the great lesson of California, the harbinger of America’s political future, and realize that today such bipartisan cooperation simply can’t get done.

In this current period of American politics, at this juncture in our history, there’s no way that a bipartisan path provides the way forward. The way forward is on the path California blazed about 15 years ago.

This is what the Left thinks. Am I supposed to hug the scorpion?
The Republic is lost.

I believe that the "conflict" comes for deeply held world views.  The Left bases their personal value and world view on how they FEEL about the topic of discussion.  Facts are only used to substantiate the feeling that the liberal holds.  I am a good person because I feel that I am a good person.  This allows the left to disregard the arguments from the right as facts are less important than how things should be.

To the Right, the reverse is generally true.  Thus when either is challenged, the individual's world view and by correlation, sense of self worth is also challenged.

I think it’s more stressful to talk to your own side about areas of disagreement.

The Left is always wrong – that’s an easy call. But, talking to folks on your own side whose mileage varies, hoo boy!

The stakes are higher.  In sports, the argument is over who's going to make playoffs, or whether your time exercised wisdom in a trade.

In politics, the arguments are over how much of your income is going to be taken away, how your children will be educated, whether you will be prohibited from owning a weapon with which to defend yourself from society's predators, etc.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

Liberals see Government as their religion, the be-all end-all of life,  they believe government can solve any problem if granted the power to do so.

Conservatives see Government as a necessary evil, and want as little to do with it as possible, and to just live their own lives.
