Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group and US carmaker Ford have unveiled an unstaffed car vending machine that is 5 stories tall in China’s southern city Guangzhou.

If the vending machine is as shitty as the cars it dispenses, a lot of Chinamen will be beating their fists on the door waiting for their Mustang to drop.

The cool one is in Singapore. It doesn't dispense Fords and Kias. This one has exotic cars- Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Porsches, Aston Martins...  as well as classics.  These aren't toys.

We used to have car vending machines 25 years ago. You went to the dealer after hours. You picked any car you wanted as long as it was in a dark part of the lot. You smashed the drivers window and popped the steering column. Bingo. New car.

Didn't have smart phones to pay for it back then so the cars were free. Unfortunately I was usually stuck with a Buick Skylark or AMC Eagle.
