Security concerns force Coca-Cola's largest bottler to close

The world's largest Coca-Cola franchise bottler has closed its operations indefinitely following what it called "two months of criminal harassment" toward employees and "the absence of law and order."

Coca-Cola FEMSA announced Friday that in order to preserve the security and safety of its employees, the company decided to close its operations in Guerrero, Mexico, which is southwest of Mexico City. Employees at the distribution center in Ciudad Altamirano have received constant threats and acts of aggression from organized crime, the company said.

The company, which has more than 160 employees, said in a news release that "the current lack of the necessary conditions to efficiently and safely operate within this part of the State of Guerrero, as exemplified by the recent unjustified assault on one of its employees, led the Company to make this decision."

I don't think they say they are moving somewhere else but that info might be kept private.
