Bush says Trump ‘makes me look pretty good’ by comparison: report
By John Bowden - 03/06/18 09:26 AM EST

Former President George W. Bush often jokes that President Trump's administration makes his own former White House team look "pretty good," according to a Republican source.

The former Republican president regularly knocks the current administration, a source close to the Trump administration told National Journal, unable to understand why the White House often seems to be in chaos.

"Bush is often heard to remark, unable to stifle his trademark smirk: 'Sorta makes me look pretty good, doesn't it?' " National Journal reported.

One would think that apparently.... GWB "thinks" that Obama was a 'pretty good' president then... since no such comparison was made by him in eight years of the Obamanation.  Which is why I keep having to say....

No Mo Bushes!   Bush is a total moron now.  The transformation is complete.

Sure thing Jorge. BTW, how many kids has Trump gotten killed in an endless war that was meaningless?

Go back to your finger painting Jorge so the world can forget about you in peace.

There is not one sourced statement in this whole story and this does not sound anything like George W. Bush.  He was always more of a self-deprecating humor kind of guy.

But I know this will bring out the Bush haters who, who are somehow able to dredge up more venom about Bush AND Trump than they can muster over Clinton, Obama, Clinton, etal.

Both Bush presidents were disappointments.

Bush  Sr. is said to have voted for Hillary, which alone defines him. (In his case, the nation had Bush fatigue after just one term)

Bush Jr. left office, with two wars unsettled, the finance/real estate crash on his watch, and turned the Presidency and both legislative chambers over to the dems. Once again Bush fatigue.

They both come from the weak-moderate party wing, the David Souter-Bill Kristol-John Kasich-lose with dignity wing. (Dole, McCain, Romney)

The majority of people on this site, seem to forget (or exist in perpetual denial) that Trump, warts and all, defeated his primary opponents, and the democrat challenger BECAUSE of Republican options like the Bushes.

I'm not a huge Trump fan, but I find 'W's comment very inappropriate.  Where was his voice when Bammy was down sizing and tying the hands of our military? IMHO it seems Trump has done fairly decently militarily.  It's his domestic policies that have much to be desired and make me cringe.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Bush 43 absolutely owns Iraq and Afghanistan, but the housing crisis was a ticking time bomb he warned people about and nobody listened.  In fact, he was opposed on it and key congressional members like Barney Frank ridiculed the idea places like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were in trouble.

On housing/finance Bush 43 as President, should have led and forced action, but in typical laid back Bush manner, he allowed it to continue.

It may have been a naïve political calculation, that it would be blamed on Barney Frank etc. But of course it didn't stick to the guilty dems. Just another example of weak, flaccid Bush family behavior, IMO.

FYI the Republicans that tried to do something were the moderates, led by McCain (all so called rinos). Not a "true conservative" in sight, on that (big) one.

Kinda like Trump should have done on the repeal of obummercare and an EO to abolish the DACA EM, like he promised for a year and a half, that's rich @truth_seeker even from you.

Dubya kept his head down and his mouth shut for eight years of the obamanation. Now the cockroach opens it's mouth..... F'k him.  I used to defend him, but he is in McCain/Kennedy consideration with me.

Yup.  Not a word of defense for himself (and us), but lots of turds for Trump.  Eff him.

What do you expect?   Trump beat his little brother and then his dad's best friend's "wife".

Dubya, I suggest you return that mirror you're looking at to it's original owner --- a guy named obama...
