A Giant Specimen of World's Most Toxic Spider Was Caught in Australia And We're Not OK

They named him Colossus.

This is one fellow you do NOT want to find in your shoe. The Australian Reptile Park has just been handed an absolute whopper of a male funnel web spider - not just the most toxic spider in Australia, but the entire world.

He's so big that the reptile park team have given him the most appropriate name they could think of - Colossus.

It's a biggish spider, but not freakishly so.  Now, the toxin - that's another thing.

Tarantulas are bigger than that.  But they're pretty casual, no biting.  I've watched them walk over my foot sitting by a campfire back when my son was in Cub Scouts.  No big whoop.  But this thing looks like its bite is bigger than its bark.  :terror:
