Researchers discover efficient and sustainable way to filter salt and metal ions from water

With two billion people worldwide lacking access to clean and safe drinking water, joint research by Monash University, CSIRO and the University of Texas at Austin published today in Sciences Advances may offer a breakthrough new solution.

How can I take anything from Anita Hill seriously?
Okay, sorry, the article is very interesting and I wonder just how well they can tune the membrane for specific metals? It would be of tremendous value in cleaning up water polluted by mining as well as recovering very expensive metals. Maybe the old gold from seawater scam will actually come true.
