I wouldn't laugh at your post.  Proud residents of a state that prides itself as "the show-me state" voted for a confirmed dead man over John Ashcroft.

True, but dead men aren’t afraid of naked statues.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Just sayin'  For Joe to stray from the reservation that far ... as to condemn fellow dems for their lack of enthusiasm ... he must have a reason.

Everyone (almost) is saying the speech went over bigly with the public.  Maybe he's getting a whiff of truth.

I won't give him the credit.  He's just trying to have it both ways.  When you get caught up to here reading the thread. I encourage you to go have a look at @mountaineer's posts about him above.

Then I guess it's a good thing he didn't join the cabinet when considered.

It's a good thing, then, that Trump didn't ask him, huh?

No, they asked Jim Cutler instead.

There were a lot of Dem politicians that were boasting of being invited to Trump's cabinet that were FOS.    From what I could find, the origin of the Manchin rumor was Manchin declaring he would never take such an offer.

Not a good couple of years for the Manchin family.  Joe’s fighting for his political life and his daughter was lambasted for the Mylan epi-pen scandal.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

I understand your point, but the problem is that nothing Manchin says can be considered sincere. What he said was correct, but he didn't really mean it. We West Virginians are all too familiar with Mojo taking both sides of an issue, saying whatever he thinks might be the most popular thing.

I agree Manchin is just as insincere as every other Senator and Representative. They all must consider their constituents will of paramount importance to win re-election, and they also need to stay in the good graces of the deep pockets who paid for them to get elected.  I agree Manchin sucks eggs.

I know this is often times a place where like minded conservatives and republicans can come to let off steam and vent, and if Manchin is your Senator I can understand the anger.  We are just talking and it doesn't have to be anything more...sometimes you just got to be red eyed, hulk smash, pissed.  Do what you gotta do.  I don't judge.

What baffles me is the insistence of being critical when rats are doing some thing we all would profess to otherwise agree.
rats Zell Miller and Joe Liebermann speaking at the republican conventions was orgasmic for me, and Manchin pointing out rat hypocrisy filled my tummy with warmth.  Strategically I can think of many worse Senators to be critical of, but OTH they are in much safer district.

Have you seen the video of Joe about to stand up at one point last night, and then suddenly drop back into his seat? He acted like he realized he was going to get in big trouble with Schmucky.

Priceless.

I am not giving him any credit at all.  I fully realize that posters who know more about the lyin' weasel than I do are correct.

I'm simply saying that it may be a sign of democrat terror that Trump is getting through to the people a little and that he may need to look for a rowboat.

Mojo probably just saw the Gallup poll that showed how popular Trump is in WV.

I don't disagree with you that he said the
right thing, just pointing out his history makes me not take it seriously. I don't understand the red eyed, hulk pissed comment,  however, @Once-Ler

My Senator up for re-election in Nov is Tammy Baldwin.  My go to description of her is lesbian, because if I'm talking to a conservative, it is shorthand.  I don't need to say more.  Her voting pattern is now known.  If I describe Tammy that way to a moderate or liberal now I gotta justify my homophobia.  It's not worth it.  I don't change their mind.  They see a monster gleefully persecuting a minority.  Sometimes I get so angry I don't care.  That's red-eyed, hulk smash pissed.  Maybe it's just me who gets that way.

After reading his voting record as stated by McConnell, I'd say, no thanks.  He'd be replacing RINO McCain.
