Carrier Corp. announced more layoffs this week, just over a year after the company made a deal with President Donald Trump to save jobs and prevent a plant from closing.

Carrier said 215 employees clocked in for their final shift at its air conditioning and heating plant in Indianapolis on Thursday. Those jobs, along with 338 manufacturing workers laid off in July, will be outsourced to the company's plant in Monterrey, Mexico, where workers make about $3 an hour, Indiana union officials told Reuters .

All they did was delay what they were going to do all along.
I guess it was good optics for them.

I remember well when the company whose fume hoods we installed moved their manufacturing to Mexico, the quality fell so low so fast that no one would buy them without deep discounts. I would predict the same will occur with Carrier.
