 3,100-year-old bowl of soup found next to dead body – and it’s still LIQUID

IT’S most likely past its sell-by date but Chinese archaeologists believe they have discovered a 3,100-year-old bowl of soup.


Sealed in a bronze cooking pot, the culinary find was dug up from a tomb in Baoji City in the Shaanxi province in China.

Also in the tomb was a badly decomposed body – believed to be a chief.

The soup was still liquid but had turned green due to the oxidisation of the bronze, researchers believe.
