In the UK, they are trying to track the tiny populations of fireflies/glow worms, and they got a huge number of false reports last year from people calling in those laser lights.
I've had a couple of my neighbors come to ask me how I got those twinkle lights 75 feet up in the trees. Then just a little while ago my neighbor got home when I was outside and held up the box to show me that he got some.
