I do not know the background from whence you came,   but I am familiar with a lot of hard core Christian fundamentalist types,   and many of them take the bible in such a literal way as to seem crazy to regular people.   


In the bible,  it was not unusual at all for much older men to court very young girls.   Some modern fundamentalists would see it as Biblically approved even though it makes modern sensibilities squeamish. 

I suspect Roy Moore is such a one as this.   His other behavior reinforces this view in my mind.

We are already seeing inflammatory hyperbole which would bias people against the Judge, even in the posts here. I would prefer to see if this is mostly another 'seven mistresses'/anointed of God/Daddy killed JFK' sort of media strike at a Republican candidate.

We don't know the whole situation but I'll go with this being a last ditch effort to stop him.

Do you perhaps recall similar allegations being made against Herman Cain a couple of years ago which drove him out of his presidential campaign?  Where are they now?  Seems they just faded back into the woodwork from whence they came once their political mission had been accomplished!
