World Series Game Seven---Live Thread

Already the Astros are on the board---George Springer, leadoff double, scores on a bad mistake
by usually sure first baseman Cody Bellinger, he went way to his right to get Alex Bregman's grounder
and threw wild past Yu Darvish covering and Springer scored easily. 1-0, Astros, top of the first . . .

Bregman steals third and scores on Jose Altuve's ground out, 2-0 Astros . . .

Yuli Gurriel has a thirteen pitch at-bat and flies out for the side, the Astros have a 2-0 lead, middle
of the first, thanks in big part to two unlikely errors by Cody Bellinger . . .

Chris Taylor plays tit-for-tat by leading off with a double; Lance McCullers plunks the bases loaded
by hitting Justin Taylor and Yasiel Puig but squirms out of the jam with a ground out to second.
2-0, Astros after one . . .

Brian McCann scores on a ground out and George Springer hits a two-run homer, his fifth
bomb of the Series, and for the second time in two Series starts Yu Darvish doesn't get out
of the second inning! 5-0 Astros with two out in the top of the second . . . Brandon Morrow
reliving Darvish, Morrow has now appeared in all seven Series games . . .

The hat-tip to Darvish before the AB.  Your opinion -- yes or no?

Morrow gets Bregman on a swinging strikeout. He's the first pitcher to work in all seven games of
a World Series since Darold Knowles did it for the Oakland Athletics in the 1973 Series . . . 5-0, Astros,
middle of the second . . .

I think he was telling him that he couldn't strike him out even with the umps help!

The Dodgers get a pair on and even with Lance McCullers, Jr. himself struggling on the mound Chris
Taylor lines into an inning ending double play. 5-0, Astros, after two full, and Clayton Kershaw is
coming in to pitch for the Dodgers . . .

Three up, three down for the Astros for the first time in the game; they lead it, 5-0, middle three . . .

The following program is brought to you in living colour on B-R-A-D: McCullers is out of the game
after setting a postseason record by hitting four batters. Seager led off with a single, Turner got
plunked for the second time, and after striking out Bellinger, Brad Peacock is coming in for the
Astros with first and second and one out in the bottom of the third . . .

For the third straight inning, the Dodgers get at least two baserunners aboard and don't cash them
in. Six men left on through three. 5-0 Astros after three full.

A one-out infield hit but that's all the Astros get, they lead it, 5-0 still, middle four . . .

And the ump worked hard at helping!

Ever since Kershaw has taken the mound the plate ump is doing his best Lt Frank Drebin impression.

Three up, three down for the Dodgers for the first time in the game, but it's still 5-0, Astros
after four full.

Three and three for the Astros including two swinging strikeouts, they still lead 5-0,
middle five . . .

Again the Dodgers have two men on.

Brad Peacock coming out of the game and Francisco Liriano coming in for the Astros with
one out and two on, bottom of the fifth . . .

Liriano gets a grounder from Bellinger, they get one at second but that's it, the Dodgers have
first and third and the Astros turn it over to Chris Devenski to face Yasiel Puig with two out in the
fifth . . .

. . . and again, the Dodgers get two or more aboard and can't cash them in.
5-0, Astros after five full . . .

The Astros get a leadoff single, two ground outs pushing Carlos Correa to third, two intentional
passes, and a pop out on the foul side of third. 5-0, Astros, middle six. Dodger fans wondering
whether their offense is guilty of desertion . . . Astro fans counting the outs until the Promised
Land . . . Charlie Morton in to pitch for the Astros . . .

Finally the Dodgers cash in a runner on a base hit to right by pinch hitter Andre
Ethier. 5-1, Astros, still first and second, still one out, bottom of the sixth . . .

With the home plate ump giving the Dodgers 4 and 5 strikes they should score at least one run!
