National anthem singer takes a knee while performing at Brooklyn Nets game
by Katie Leach | Oct 20, 2017, 10:15 PM

After performing the national anthem at Friday night's Brooklyn Nets game, singer Justine Skye took a knee in the latest installment of the ongoing demonstration.

Skye knelt specifically during the line "and the home of the brave," according to reports.

However, according to the Associated Press, the demonstration wasn't well received among fans. Skye reportedly received more boos than cheers for her stunt.

Fun fact: the Nets are owned by hip-hop star Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, who has been making money off the police brutality narrative ever since he released the song "99 Problems" over 15 years ago now.

They might as well replace the anthem with "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" at this point.

Actually, Russian multi-billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov is the majority owner with 80% of the shares. Carter is a minority owner with a few percent ownership.
