For those of you are in or around Washington, D.C. or just plan on visiting over the winter, how would you feel if the National Mall was adorned with a 45 foot tall statue of a naked woman? You may be in position to find out if a proposal currently being evaluated for the annual “Catharsis on the Mall” festival gets final approval. The statue (pictured above) originally appeared at Burning Man in 2015, but the artist would like to have her staring defiantly at the White House for four months. (Washington Post)

In general I'm in favor of trim naked women. So no problem with this. But I have to say, it would be more appropriate for DC if they built a giant statue of a (clothed) man with his head up his ass.

From an artistic perspective, the work is technically good. Especially considering the size.

You can't tell from the picture in the article, but if you click the WaPo link at the article, the video indicates they intend a DD sized chest.  You see, the point of the exhibit is to protest the "sexualizaton of women."  So there you go.

Turn your nose up at correspondence courses but that is how I got my Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering. If it wasn't for a slight hiccup in my early career at Three Mile Island in the late 70's I would still be doing it.

"Partial meltdown" and "Possible disaster" were the flimsy reasoning regulators and Dick Thornburgh used to fire me. I know the reason they canned me was because I was dating one of the executives secretaries. The plant is still there and running so it wasn;t that big a deal, am I right?
