Ted Cruz 'Likes' Porn on Twitter, Breaks Internet

The excuses are almost inevitable, and predictable: The account was hacked, possibly by those pesky Russians. Or some rogue intern got hold of the social media, a secret Democrat intent on political subterfuge. Whatever the case, it is all but certain that Ted Cruz, the conservative Republican who serves as the junior Senator from Texas, will deny having "liked" a pornographic clip on Twitter.

The facts are as follows: On Monday evening, the account belonging to Cruz "liked" a video clip posted by @SexuallPosts, an account whose sole purpose is disseminating pornographic videos. That clip, 2 minutes and 20 seconds in length, has a woman walking into what appears to be her house. There, she discovers a couple having sexual intercourse. She proceeds to watch them, to her own evident pleasure.

The Cruz account retracted the "like" as soon as it began to attract the attention of Twitter users. By then, of course, it was too late.

I doubt hacked, but maybe.  I don't use Twitter so I don't know exactly how it works, but in advertising yourself on social media the general rule is to like and/or comment on every post.  I think it's more likely that a bored intern was clicking like on a whole bunch of new contributions and blazed through that one without realizing what it was.

In any case, I find it a funny story.  The media trying to make him out as some kind of hypocrite over the whole thing is s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g.

Your profile contains a list of everything you've done. I did not realize that list contains Likes too but evidently it does.

I am thinking the porn site saw the like from Cruz and immediately went to Ted profile page and did a screen capture. Twitter users do not look at profile pages on a regular basis.

3) If I were you, constantly falling all over myself to defend a serial adulterer/liar/harasser who told us about his junk on international TV, I think I might recognize that I have no standing to criticize a guy looking at porn, even if he did it.

If someone deliberately posts a video of porn (a clip) on your twitter feed, then yes...it's possible.  It was a setup.... and an aide of Cruz mistakenly liked the video clip.  No biggie.  Just another excuse for the Cruz haters to point and laugh and act like the azholes that they truly are.

Probably whoever they have managing the account thought they were logged into their personal account.   I have a personal twitter that I never use and a business account and its easy to do.

Note - neither of them has ever 'liked' a porn feed.

It's very easy to like something unintentiionally on FB and Twitter both. Especially if you aren't playing close attention.

This screenshot was posted on twitter on several pages earlier today and it appears to be a fake. I dropped the screenshot into Photoshop and inverted the colors > zoomed in and it appears that a new screenshot was pasted in on the right area. You can see a slight difference in the black (in the negative color) colors of the pasted in area. All the posts reference a screenshot, but not the original 'like' which is not there on his account.




Even if not a fake screenshot, twitter hackers hijack and mimic pages all the time. A mundane news article could actually be a script to dump porn on an account. it is always a challenge running any high profile pages to weed these out (or any page at that but high profile pages are generally a target).

Considering one of the reasons I have never had a 'smart phone' is that my digits are too large for the sort of precision that would permit me to accomplish anything without undoing all the stuff I inadvertently did. There is enough frustration in my world without deliberately dashing into harms' way.
I can see where accidentally doing something you didn't want to do could be easy, especially for someone who was trying to get rid of something they did not want to have present at all.
