I must admit I cannot stand working the tractor with Cabs. A few of the rodeos I'll be the tractor man dragging between runs. If there is a cab, I'm always worried about not seeing something or hearing someone.
I don't mind the Texas heat, but I will eventually add a shade canopy.
If I was working in the snow, I might feel differently.
@thackney Cabs with air conditioners make a lot of sense when you are mowing a lot of tall marsh grass full of cottonmouths, mosquitoes, yellow flies, and horse flies, and I have 8 acres of it. Not going to mow most of it,but I am going to keep enough of it mowed to make a firebreak so there is no 20 foot wall of fire racing to my house and the cars and equipment in the yard. Having that cab means no snake can jump up out of the tall grass and bit me. The air-conditioner means I can keep the doors closed and not worry about mosquitoes or biting flies.
I used to keep it cut with a bush hook and a swing blade, but that was 30 years ago. Now I have arthritis in both hands, both knees, and both shoulders,as well as COPD. It was either buy a tractor with a cab to keep it cut,or give up and let the house burn down because one thing you can believe is that somebody is going to set that tall dead grass on fire.
