As Cabrera walked back to the plate, he and Yankees catcher Austin Romine, the brother of Tigers utility-man Andrew Romine, began jawing at each other. Cabrera then pushed Austin Romine and threw a punch, sparking a scuffle and prompting both benches to clear.
Tigers starter Michael Fulmer had hit Gary Sanchez with a pitch in the fifth inning, after Sanchez hit a solo home run off him in the fourth inning. Sanchez has hit a home run in each game of the series against the Tigers.

Betances was warned and then he became upset, given that it was a tie game. Betances and Yankees bench coach Rob Thompson were then ejected for arguing with the umpires.
Tigers relieiver [
