White House: White supremacists included in Trump's condemnation of violence
By Julia Manchester - 08/13/17 11:19 AM EDT

The White House on Sunday defended President Trump's remarks denouncing the violence in Charlottesville, Va., one day earlier, saying his condemnation includes "white supremacists, KKK Neo-Nazi and all extremist groups."

"The President said very strongly in his statement yesterday that he condemns all forms of violence, bigotry, and hatred," the White House said in a statement.

"Of course that includes white supremacists, KKK Neo-Nazi and all extremist groups," a spokesperson added.

"He called for national unity and bringing all Americans together."

The official statement comes after Trump took bipartisan heat on Saturday for not directly calling out hate groups in his remarks, and for blaming "many sides" for the violence.

He's absolutely right.  Both sides of yesterday's riots need to be called out and denounced.

Let's face it, Trump could say "up" and the media would insist it was "down. " As noted repeatedly,  I am no DJT apologist,  but whatever he does or says is sure to be misinterpreted.

So the condemnation was not primarily focused on White Supremacists.  They were just one of a multitude.

Odd to focus primarily on targets not doing the killing.

That'd be like an ISIS attack somewhere in the US... and then issuing a condemnation against hostile foreign paramilitary groups worldwide.

Oh, I'm sure you were as critical of Obama when BLM marched through the streets, "fry 'em like bacon" and Police were being killed. Now, were you saying Obama should be condemning BLM by name? I doubt it.  A lot of poppycock.
