No, voting for Trump is voting for Democrats.

Not surprising that they think they can use a Liberal to cast out Liberals.

Or put another way - Satan can apparently cast out Satan in their estimation.

As I said yesterday, these people would argue that voting for Lenin is better than voting for Stalin rather than choosing neither and working to do something different.

No, voting for Trump is voting for Democrats.

I am amazed that you think that, Roamer, if you actually do.

Trump may be awful, stupid and vindictive but he is 100 times better than any prominent democrat right now.

Why don't you take a stab at naming ONE you think would be better than Trump.

I will give you the same challenge that I gave Roamer.

Name one democrat that is marginally viable as a prospective candidate who would be better than Trump.

Not a good sign though. I remember reading that Carter was almost primaried in 1980 by Kennedy and he went on to lose.
Kennedy ran on the liberal agenda, Carter ran on "I'll whip his ass."

And in the autumn, the country said the same thing about Carter.

Name one democrat that is marginally viable as a prospective candidate who would be better than Trump.

You're missing the point altogether.

We choose NEITHER the Liberal running with an 'R' after their name or the Liberal running as a Democrat, because neither of them will serve the foundational principles Conservatives are governed by outside of lip service and sleight-of-hand.

If you continue to buy the lie that it is going to be one or the other, you will soon be faced with the choice of choosing between a Lenin and a Stalin, and I firmly believe we would hear all the same stupid arguments we see on this thread that will advocate why Lenin is better than Stalin and why we better vote for him or else.

If Liberty is the goal, then we must separate from the crown of a corrupted oligarchy and declare our independence from the leadership of those parties who no longer have any moral legitimacy.

Because most people who post here have at least a little sense and surely know that either of those votes is just voting for democrats.

A Hillary supporter at the office accuses me of electing Trump, because I went third party.  Different jersey, same BS.  Fact of the matter - to vote for either (D) or (R) in 2016 was to support the process that got them on the ticket.

I'll give it a try.  Lenin - because the Cheka was slightly less brutal than the NKVD.

Jim Webb.

Jim Webb.  Well, he's neither fish, nor fowl, nor good red meat.

He's more of an independent and has about the same chance of getting nominated by the Dems as I do.

Nice try, though.

He claims to be a Dem.

I consider it a successful try - you asked for one Dem who'd be a better president than Trump.

Yes, but it's probably better to have a Dem who leans right than a Repub who leans left.  If he had run in his political prime, I just MAY have considered Sam Nunn.

Trump is a flawed human being, as are we all, but in the realm of governing, which is the realm we're dealing with here on earth in this place, he is by far better than any alternative you can think of.

I speak of any alternative that has a snowball's chance in the hot place of assuming the presidency UNLESS Trump retires or is challenged and Ted Cruz is the nominee.

See, I can dwell in the Promised Land as well as the rest of you.

Amen, brother.  Trump's faults right now are mostly self-created by his incessant and often stupid tweeting.  That and his inability to influence Congress in his direction are the main wrong things in his first 6/7 months.

I think the thing I dislike most about Never Trumpers is their vast sense of ideological purity and self-righteousness.

I think most of the people who spout off about voting third party or not voting are doing just that ... spouting off.

Because most people who post here have at least a little sense and surely know that either of those votes is just voting for democrats.

That simply isn't true.

You ignored my caveat.  If a good conservative could somehow be nominated, hopefully Ted Cruz, then that would be great.

I'm talking about reality in the here and now.

Pence is closer than anyone, and I would be happy to see him take the oath.

Well, you guys go on tilting at windmills, while the practical among us will try to keep the real evil from power.

You're doing no such thing except legitimizing evil and putting a label on it while exclaiming it is "conservative'.

Eventually, like I said - it will come down to a choice between Lenin and Stalin and you will be insisting that it is practical to elect Lenin to keep 'real evil from power'.

Have fun with your Communism-lite.

Well, I wouldn't.  And telling me something simply isn't true is not an argument.  No debating points there.

Pence is a nice guy who could never get elected and having Pence take the oath would mean that Trump had been impeached.  Not a good thing.

I am not legitimizing evil.  Have fun with your 'other plans,' undefined as they are.

Not one of you NT-ers has made a legitimate argument.  I'm off to watch Breaking Bad re-runs.
