 Copper, stone era site discovered in western Iran

    Tehran, July 29, IRNA - The salvage exploration in Tappeh Qeshlaq of Talvar Dam in the city of Bijar, Kordestan Province, has led to the discovery of a site dating back to the copper and stone era, an official said.

 Head of the archeological explorations team of Tappeh Qeshlaq in the city of Bijar, Kordestan Province Mahnaz Sharifi made the remarks in a meeting held at the premises of the Research Institute of Archeology.

Earlier, cultural communication between the east of Central Zagros and the southern pond of Orumiyeh (Urmia) Lake had been raised in archeological studies but there was no information available on the intermediate location, According to the Public Relations Office of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT).
